Videos I’ve Worked On
Freelance Dance + Music Videos
I have the honor of having friends who want me on set with them; here are some of the results.
“Freak” by Moliy - A crazy midday-to-overnight shoot where a small team of us worked directly with the artist to bring the story of an abusive relationship to life. I was a production assistant on this shoot, mainly assisting the camera department.
“Come Correct” by TJ Cream (Spoudé), performed by FLOW Dance Team - Got to work with this super energetic group of dancers and test out my gimbal skills. I was sole videographer here, with one assistant to help with logistics day-of.
“Autumn” by NIKI, performed and choreographed by Chelsea Li - A dreamy sunset / magic hour shoot in Coney Island with one of my closest friends, inspired by NIKI’s “Oceans and Engines” music video off of the same album. I was also the sole videographer here, with one assistant to help us keep people out of the shot while we were filming on the boardwalk.
Personal + Class Projects
My personal and class projects, near and dear to my heart. Both projects are conceptualized, directed, shot, and edited by me. The bread and butter of what I aspire to do is hearing people’s stories and being able to document their expressions. These are my best attempts so far; more to come in the future.
Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts
In my final year at NYU, I scored my dream internship at Lincoln Center as the Digital Video and Marketing Intern. I participated in several shoots as a production assistant and had the opportunity to meet some of the incredible artists that Lincoln Center hosts on its campus. I was even given the opportunity to operate a camera for one of the summer livestreams during Lincoln Center’s Summer for the City initiative in 2022. The year I interned here truly transformed the way I saw myself and my career, and I’ll always be thankful.
Generasian
For the past two years at Generasian, I’ve been a Media Editor, helping produce and direct videos. I’ve worked on camera, effects, and editing in my time here, in addition to leading a team of dedicated students. Every semester, we brainstorm new ideas together, figure out a budget and location, and shoot these videos that explore Asian American identity through the lens of college students in New York. Definitely a super rewarding experience.
Okie Media
At Okie Media, I worked as an assistant camera operator, lighting assistant, and occasional editor for videos like these. We shot these with Canon DSLR and C300 cameras. These particular videos are from a series called “Meet These People,” exploring the inner lives of people that you’ve never met, but probably feel like you know.
Anderson Street Media
I held an internship with Anderson Street during the summer of 2019, and it was an awesome experience that allowed me to explore the different kinds of conversations that people are having at their dinner tables. Through my time here as a production intern, I helped light, shoot, and run sound for their YouTube web series as well as edit various clips for their Instagram feed, which can be found here. Unfortunately, I don’t think they are actively pursuing this web series anymore, but you can still see my work posted on these websites.
